Professor Willie heads the Trust Law and Estate Planning Department and specialises in trust law, holistic estate planning and related topics.

His practice consists of advising clients (including practitioners) on the creation, variation, analysis and terminating of various kinds of trusts and how it should form part of a holistic estate plan including business protection and family relationship plans.  Willie presents seminars to attorneys, accountants and other fiduciary practitioners and clients on all topics related to trusts and estate planning at various centres around the country.

Prior to joining Millers Incorporated in 1992, he was a legal advisor to Johannesburg City Council, practised as an attorney and was involved with an estate planning bureau at Potchefstroom University, before becoming professor in Mercantile Law and Dean of the Law Faculty of the University of the North (now Limpopo).

He currently serves as an extraordinary professor in the Private Law Department at the Free State University and is a member of the Society of Trusts and Estate Practitioners (STEP). He also serves of the Trust and Estates Committee of the Law Society of South Africa. Willie was a co-presenter of the diploma in tax practice offered by the Law Society of South Africa and accredited by the University of Johannesburg.  He is also co-author of “Wills & Trusts”, a leading publication on the law of trusts and wills in South Africa as well as the Estate Planning and Fiduciary Services Guide and Butterworths Forms & Precedents: Estates.

Corné obtained her B.Comm LL.B from the North West University (Potchefstroom) as well as her LL.M (Master's degree) in Estate Law from the same university in 2008/2009. She joined Millers Attorneys in 2009 as a candidate attorney and was admitted as an Attorney during 2010. 

She is currently an Associate at the firm in the Trusts & Estates Department and focusses mainly on Trust Law and Estate Planning. She is a member of FISA (Fiduciary Institute of South Africa), updated the Wills-section of the loose leaf publication of LexisNexis called Butterworths Forms & Precedents: Estates during 2015 and she regularly writes articles on trusts and other related topics.

She was also selected during 2016 to serve as a member of the George Business Chamber Executive Committee.

Theresa graduated from the University of South Africa in 2010 with a LL.B. degree and was appointed as a director of the firm on 1 April 2015. She was employed by the firm in 2003 as a legal secretary and studied part-time through UNISA.  While serving her period of articles, she worked in various departments within the firm and decided to focus on estate planning and the administration of estates.

She specialises in the administration of estates, holistic estate planning, wills, estate transfers and curatorships and recently joined as a member of the Fiduciary Institute of South Africa (FISA). During 2015 she also updated the Administration of Deceased Estates section of the loose leaf publication of LexisNexis called Butterworths Forms & Precedents and regularly writes articles on estate planning and other related topics.

Apart from her full time career she is also a mother of two young boys.

Sandy moved to George from Durban and started with Millers in 1993 in the Litigation Department and gained experience in both High Court and Magistrate's Court litigation.  During 2013 she needed a change, and accepted a challenge to join the Trust & Estates team, which she enjoys. Sandy’s plan is to retire at the end of 2016.

Nadia grew up in George and studied in PE.  She started working at Millers in May 2003 in the Conveyancing Department where she did bond registrations and was also a personal assistant to one of the associates.  In 2013 an opportunity presented itself when she joined the Trust Department as paralegal. Nadia also specialised in the baking of delicious cakes and cupcakes.

Juliana was born in Victoria West in the Karoo.   She started working at Millers in 2004 as a conveyancing secretary and joined the Estate Department in 2006 as an estate administrator. Julie is the proud grandmother of two little boys.
