THE TRANSFER PROCESS IN A NUTSHELL

The steps are determined by the contract, do not always follow this order and sometimes more steps are required:

  1. Both the Seller and Purchaser are informed by a telefax or SMS or e-mail  that we have received the contract of sale
  2. One of the attorneys will peruse the contract
  3. Para-legal obtain information and outstanding documentation
  4. Collect deposit if applicable
  5. Follow up on bond approval
  6. Request Title Deed and cancellation figures
  7. Draft the documentation
  8. Arrange for and attend to signature of documentation by both parties
  9. Request pro forma costs
  10. Obtain guarantees from bond attorneys and collect purchase price if applicable
  11. Obtain rates clearance certificate
  12. Obtain transfer duty receipt
  13. Arrange lodgment

REGISTRATION IS EXPECTED IN APPROXIMATELY 2 WEEKS FROM LODGMENT.
